Iowa's Recovery Act (Stimulus) Funds
for Victims of Crime Act (VA) and
Violence Against Women Act (VW)
Iowa Attorney General's Crime Victim Assistance
Division (CVAD)Victim Services Support (VSS) Program
The Victim Services Support (VSS) Program provides partial funding and technical
assistance to community-based and statewide programs throughout Iowa. The
Program funds justice systems and victim service programs. Funded victim
service programs provide free and confidential services to persons who are
victims of crime. The VSS Program is designated to administer the Iowa’s
Recovery Act (Stimulus) Funds for Victims of Crime Act (VA) and Violence
Against Women Act (VW).
The main purpose of the Recovery Act funds is to stimulate the economy, preserve
and create jobs and to assist those most impacted by the recession. These funds
are to be utilized an effort to minimize the reductions in essential services
for victims.
The VSS Program is taking applications for the above-mentioned Recovery Act
(Stimulus) funds specific to agencies providing services to victims. An
original application plus 15 copies are due in the CVAD office by 4:30 pm on
Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Download the application documents and certified
